This the sixth ship to carry the name HMS Starling was a 4-gun, composite screw gunboat.

Built by Samuda of Poplar, launched 19-Apr-1882, 125ft long, 23ft wide and displacing 465 tons. Armed with 2 x 64pdr and 2 x 20pdr guns.

Sold 04-Apr-1905 and renamed Stella Maris.
