HMS Melpomene (1890) CC  (4th)

    
This the fourth ship to carry the name HMS Melpomene was a 2nd Class, Protected Cruiser.

Built at Portsmouth Dockyard, laid down 10-Oct-1887, launched 20-Sep-1888, and completed 1890.

On completion went to the Pacific Station 1890-93. Returned to the UK 1894-97. To the East Indies Station 1897-1900. Returned to the UK and went into reserve 1901-05.

Paid off 1905.

Sold 11-Aug-1905.
