HMS Medea (1895) CC  (4th)

    
This the fourth ship to carry the name HMS Medea was the name ship of a class of five, 2nd Class, Protected Cruisers.

Built at Chatham Dockyard, laid down 25-Apr-1887, launched 09-Jun-1888, and completed Apr-1895.

On completion was used RNR Drillship at Southampton 1895-1901. Refitted at Jarrow 1901-02, then served with the Cruiser Training Squadron 1902-03, then Seagoing Tender to TS Impregnable at Devonport 1904.

Laid up at Sheerness 1904-09.

Attached to the Mediterranean Battle Squadron 1909-13.

Sold 1914.
