This the ninth ship to carry the name HMS Martin was a 16-gun, brig.

Built at Pembroke Dock, laid down Sep-1848, launched 19-Sep-1850, and commissioned 03-oct-1850. 105ft long, 33ft 6in wide and of 481 tons builders measurement. Armed with 4 x 32pdr guns and 12 x 32pdr carronades.

Renamed HMS Kingfisher and used as a training brig 02-May-1890.

Sold 02-Oct-1907.
