This the first ship to carry the name HMS Ludlow was a fifth rate, 32-gun, ship.

Built by Mundy of Woodbridge, launched 12-Sep-1698, 108ft long, 28ft 6in wide and of 382 tons builders measurement.

Captured 16-Jan-1703 off Goree, by the French ship Adroit.
