This the fifth ship to carry the name HMS Flora was originally HMS Griper, an iron screw gunboat.

Built at Pembroke Dock, launched 15-Sep-1879, 87ft long, 26ft wide and displacing 265 tons.

Renamed YC.373 and used for harbour service from 1905.

renamed HMS Flora 19-Jun-1923 and used as a base ship.

Renamed Afrikander 1933 and sold about 1937.
