This the fourth ship to carry the name HMS Defiance was a third rate, 66-gun, ship-of-the-line.

Built by Johnson & Castle of Deptford, launched 1666, and of 890 tons builders measurement.

Burnt by accident at Chatham 06-Dec-1668.

Won the Battle Honours: Four Days' Battle 1666 and Orfordness 1666.
