This the third ship to carry the name HMS Acorn was an 18-gun,
sloop. Built at Chatham Dockyard, launched 16-Nov-1826, 112ft long, 30ft 6in wide and of 455 tons builders measurement. Wrecked 14-Apr-1828 off Halifax, Nova Scotia.
