Description

The action took place about 150 miles north of Minorca at 41º 8' north 5º 30' east..

HMS Dido (28-gun) engaged the larger French Minerve (38-gun), and was suffering badly during the action. HMS Lowestoffe which had been engaging the Artemis returned and allowed Dido to capture Minerve.

The French ship Artemis was also present and took part in the action but escaped.
