| Description |
The action took place in Dunkirk harbour. HMS Dart led a mixed force on a raid into the harbour where four French Frigates were known to be located. During the raid HMS Dart's men boarded the French Desiree and after a fierce hand to hand engagement took control and sailed her from Dunkirk as a prize. Desiree lost about 100 killed and wounded while Dart lost 1 killed and 17 wounded.
